Designation Program
To earn the CCIM designation, professionals must pass each of the four core courses (CI 101 – 104), submit a Portfolio of Qualifying Experience and pass the Comprehensive Exam. CCIM membership is required prior to submitting the Portfolio of Qualifying Experience.
Although membership isn't required until the portfolio of qualifying experience, CCIM encourages membership during and after the designation process.

The CCIM education program is the most comprehensive educational resource in commercial investment real estate. It represents the core knowledge expected of commercial investment real estate practitioners. The curriculum incorporates the essential CCIM skill sets: financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis and investment analysis. International candidates can complete this requirement through in-class courses or through the Home Study/Challenge Program.

The Portfolio of Qualifying Experience is a standardized means for candidates to verify the quality of their work as commercial investment professionals and to document having achieved at least the minimum level of experience required to qualify for the CCIM designation. Candidates may submit the portfolio at any time prior to taking the Comprehensive Exam and are encouraged to begin working on it while taking the required courses.

The Course Concepts Review (CCR) prepares candidates for the Comprehensive Exam through intensive case studies, course reviews and group interaction. This session is held two days immediately before the Comprehensive Exam and covers the material included in CI 101-104.
Passing the Comprehensive Exam is the final step toward becoming a CCIM Designee. This six-hour exam tests your knowledge of the key elements from the core courses.
